Data Protection & Security

All interview recordings are encrypted end-to-end using industry-standard protocols. Video and audio data is transmitted securely via TLS 1.3 and stored on HIPAA-compliant servers with restricted access. Only authorized personnel with safeguarding clearance can access recordings.

Participant Rights

As an interview participant, you have the right to:

  • Stop recording at any time without explanation
  • Request deletion of any segment during or after recording
  • Review your recording before final submission
  • Withdraw consent within 30 days of recording
  • Restrict use of your testimony for specific purposes

Usage & Retention

Recordings are used exclusively for:

  • Archival preservation of vocational testimony
  • Educational and pastoral formation purposes
  • Research aligned with Catholic social teaching
  • Diocesan safeguarding compliance

Recordings are retained indefinitely for historical and formational purposes, unless deletion is requested. All usage complies with USCCB norms and diocesan Safe Environment standards.

Consent Process

Before recording begins, you will be asked to verbally confirm your consent on camera. This includes:

  1. Confirmation of identity and ecclesial standing
  2. Acknowledgment of voluntary participation
  3. Understanding of data usage and retention policies
  4. Agreement to comply with diocesan safeguarding norms

Safeguarding Notice

Divine Mercies Inc. maintains zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, or boundary violations. Any content suggesting harm to minors or vulnerable persons will be immediately reported to civil and ecclesiastical authorities as required by law and canon.
